A basic sweet pastry for fruit tarts, pies etc.




225g plain flour
110g butter
80g sugar
1 large egg





You can mix by hand, adding the butter to the flour in a mixing bowl until the 'breadcrumb' stage is reached.  Then add and mix in the sugar.  Add the egg and enough milk to make a soft dough.

Or - do it all in the blender.


Rest in the fridge for an hour before using.
